apartment-hunting in Berlin

Hope you had a relaxed weekend! We didn’t, although it was an inspiring and hopeful one. We, my boyfriend and I, went apartment-hunting in Berlin. My feet and legs still hurt from running around town for two days. I didn’t count all the subway and train rides, but there were a lot. Over 40, I think. And we walked long ways from one apartment to another, for example in Kreuzberg. My favorite district of all times. I felt instantly at home. It’s a creative, young and alternative district and one of the in-districts in Berlin. We were both so disappointed, when our favorite aparment with the perfect location (quiet but next to the famous Bergmannstraße) was too expensive for us. It would have been the perfect place for us.

Another beautiful apartment weren’t positioned to good, but was just amazing. Four rooms and a really creative layout with inpsiring little details; like a golden ring instead of a door latch at the bathroom door. We fell immediately in love with the big rooms, but there would have been too much to do on short notice. I’m still so sad, that we couldn’t take it, because I had the feeling, we could have make this apartment our home. Especially because there would have been so much to do by ourselves.

So, for now we are still searching for our new home in Berlin.

Although we didn’t find our new home yet, I loved this weekend. We explored several new districts of Berlin and found a new street to shop for creative, unusual things, amazing street art and a fantastic restaurant inside the Arminius market hall in the Moabit district. And if that wasn’t enough, we watched the festival of lights at the Brandenburger Tor, American embassy and Potsdamer Platz. It was amazing and inspiring seeing these buildings painted with light.

have a good start into the new work week
