This week I share a special art journal of mine with you. I created it in a time of my life, where I was very frustrated and sometimes even fighting depression. Although it was a hard time, I treasure this art journal so much. The cause: I used an advertisement magazine from Opus and only monochrome colors to work with. And this makes it special. It was fun to work with these restrictions and I just loved the photos within the magazine. They almost spoke for themselves.

Thank you for sharing such a special journal. This is such a fantastic form of therapy – just getting everything out onto the page and not allowing it to mix around inside the brain.

I love your monochromatic colour scheme. It’s definitely an idea that I’m going to try out sometime in art journaling. I actually made my sister’s 20th birthday mini book in all black and white (her favourite colours), and that was very new to me. It was tough being so limited (as well as a time limit).

Love that last page. You do magical things with washi.
