My word for 2014 is ‘enjoy’ and it was wise to choose. I’m still struggeling to really enjoy the moment and be in the here & now, when my mind likes to wander off to past and future all the time. So no wonder I noticed, that many art journal pages this year circulate around the same theme: be in the now and enjoy today. Like these two pages. Do you have a tipp for me, how to focus more on the now? Or do you have the same problem – thinking too much about the past and always planning for and worrying about your future?

It was so inspiring to see how everyone interpreted the Get Messy prompt from the creative Caylee last week. This is what amazes me the most – the different art journal styles. Therefore I’m more than excited, what you will create from my prompt. It is revealed today on Lauren’s blog – so be sure to hop over there.

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practise our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

get messy. get crafty.

Wow, these pages are super! Fantastic design on both, and I especially like the circles and space theme on the first layout. Beautifully done!

I love these pages. being in the present is very difficult. I think that is why so many people journal about it, like it helps them to remember. I try to take a second to stop what I’m doing and focus on what is happening now, especially when I feel I am wandering in my head!

    I love your prompt.

Do you know how many space pictures I have kept from my National Geographic magazines? I love love love how they look but I never know what to do with them. You really did the pictures justice. So pretty, so simple. My favourite page from you this week, though, is the second ones. You do magical things with washi tape.

Both pages are great! But I am totally digging that first one! I just love circles and I love the way you used only circles to create your page. Also I love that the negative space around it adds to the “spacey” feeling!
