minialbum: summer manifesto 2013

minialbum: summer manifesto 2013 cover by momentstolivefor
I love Ali Edwards idea of a summer manifesto and her idea to write down a goal on one side and leave the other side for the proof with text and photo. You can download the cover of her new summer manifesto here and purchase the entire pages here.

Although I find her pages lovely, I decided to make a similar book without printing pages, but using my beloved stamps and scrapbooking papers instead. The layout is similar to Ali Edward’s pages: left side the goal, right side room for proof. Here are some pages of the minialbum. If you want to know, what my other goals for this summer are, then read on here.

For the minialbum I used Amy Tangerine‘s Alphabet stamp set, the ‘I love’ stamp by Elise Joy and papers by echo park paper & co (from the set Summer Days, Playground and Little Girl) and by Bella Boulevard (from the set Sunshine Happiness and Socialite).

crafty weekend: wedding preparations

crafty weekend: wedding preparations by momentstolivefor

What a weekend! My friend Sarah, who will get married in May and her maid of honor Nicole visited me and we crafted the whole weekend for her wedding. We had a very good time while working and celebrated our progress with cocktails in Bremen downtown.

As you can see, the chosen colors for the wedding are light green, white and grey. Sarah cut a heart stamp out of a eraser like the heart of the hole puncher – you can see it, when you scroll down. With the light green paint it adds something special to the bags and envelopes. We used acrylic paint for the silhouettes on the bags and the hearts on the bags and envelopes.

Their wedding symbols are the silhouettes of the bridal couple. They ordered these two stamps at a local print and graphic shop. They used them on the invitations, the church programs, the goodie bags and on the ‘thank you’-envelopes.On the envelopes we used a white stamp pad. At first we tested the stamp on one envelope, because we were afraid it wouldn’t cover the whole silhouette, but it turned out beautiful.

And this is, what we did most of the time: punching hearts from light green and grey cardboard. Enough to decorate all the tables at the party room with heart confetti. Hundreds and thousands of little hearts. Afterwards the floor was covered with them.

It was such a fun weekend and the bride was amazed, how much we accomplished in this short time. Really would like to do it again sometime.
