#fromwhereistand: leaves
It started as a simple #fromwhereistand photo. Just my feet next to a collection of beautiful colored leaves. On my next walk I took the next two, and another. Soon enough I had a whole pile of photos from this motive. So I made it my goal to shoot it as a kind of challenge everywhere I’ve been this autumn. Love this little Sammelsurium (mingle-mangle) of pictures.
photo walk: fall
Such a wonderful, sunny and warm October Sunday. Perfect for a walk under colored trees, to take the last really warm sunbeams in and fill the reservoire for the long winter days. We took a walk through the Tiergarten in Berlin, where the leaves are still not all colored in fall colors, but it was beautiful anyway. The sun shone through the leaves so bright, that you almost needed sunglasses. We even saw people wandering around barefoot, like it was a warm summer day. What day would be more perfekt to take a fall photo walk.

finally fall: my fall moments
What a lovely fall it was this year and still is. Loved specially the light on the leaves or rushing through rustling leaves on the ground. The clear blue sky and a cool wind blowing through my hair and the kites of kids up in the air, where flocks of birds flying south to a warmer realm.
All photos were taken with my iPhone 4s and can be found on Instagram
finally fall: favorite fall music
Hey there, I think this is the right season for some thoughtful, lyrical songs. So here are some of my favorite songs this fall, that I listen to every single day on my way to the office or while I’m working on the products for the craft fair:
finally fall: falling leaves photoshoot
Greetings from Denmark. It’s been lovely and fun here so far. I’m in Odense with some friends for a week. With my good friend Susanne I had some fun photoshoots and this is one of them.
Just take some leaves, throw them up in the air and enjoy, when you stand in a rain of leaves. Make sure the photographer sits close to you on the ground and that the camera points into the right direction – maybe take some testshoots first. The lower the camera is positioned, the better you can capture the falling leaves. We used the wide angle objective (18 mm).
Have fun! 🙂

maple owl by merwing✿little dear
It’s time to get crafty. Love this season, because I always feel like cuddling under a warm blanket with a hot tea at hand, browsing in magazines for new craft ideas and make them real on rainy days. And how about this cute owl sitting next to you, while you’re reading? by the Diary of Daves Wife
This door wreath is adorable and I love especially the warm and sunny colors. It must have been a lot of work to cut out all of these leaves, but it was worth it. Amazing.

This idea is just wonderful – how about a card filled with some real leaves to send someone special fall greetings?

Or make a collection of pinecones or something similar like chestnuts, acorns and so on with your kids. It will definitely be a wonderful fall decoration for your home.

How about graditude leaves? Just cut out some leaves – maybe use a stamp to get the right shape – and then write on the back everything you are thankful for. Displayed on your wall it will remind you to be thankful everyday throughout the fall season.

My special favorite fall DIY – leave stamps. Just look at the different shapes and imagine how gorgeous they must look on paper in green, brown, yellow and orange.

finally fall: photo walk
This weekend I travelled to my parents. Nearby to my parents home is a wonderful forest, that I always liked to take a walk in as a child. Especially in fall it’s so beautiful, when the trees become colored. Every leave in a different color or even one leave in many. The breath that rushes through the treetops. Or a rain of leaves tumbling through the air and around you. Oh so wonderful.

finally fall: fall memories
This is my favorite time of year to travel to one of the islands in the North Sea like Langeoog or Amrum. I love to wander the long beaches with almost no one around, letting my thoughts wander as well, wherever they want to go. It’s like a meditation for me. And afterwards I go to one of the many tea shops and have a cup of original East Frisian tea with a little bit of milk and rock candy. It’s lovely to see the little white milk cloud spreading over the whole cup.
I always liked the fall season. I liked to fly a kite, I liked the wind blowing around me and even the rain drippling on my hood, I liked running through tall piles of crumbled leaves, kicking them in every direction, collecting acorns and conker and making little creatures out of them… and I still do. Just look at my face on the last picture, how I enjoyed being at the North Sea with a strong wind blowing and a little rain now and then. 🙂
