Thursday and prompt day. So excited for this one, because this months I wrote the prompt and I’m so eager to see, what everyone created! I hope everyone enjoyed this little crafty adventure, even if it was hard to figure out, what to create and work with unusual materials.
I must confess, although this was my own prompt and I thought, it would be so easy, it was really hard to create a page with a new material, I never used before and let the page still look like me. These feathers waited in my crafty backlog for years to be used. Now that they are out on the page, I really like them and their bold colors. But they won’t go in my regular craft stash. They are just not my style. But I really do love this children’s book page I found on a fleamarket. Love the drawing and will definitely use more of the drawings on other pages.
Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practise our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

Amazing pages, Sabine. I love the book page – I’ve often used actual (word) book pages but never a book illustration! Your prompt was so much fun – thank you!! Xx

Curious George book!! My brother special needs brother is obsessed with him. I also I love that you used feathers, also something I haven’t try before either. Your live adventurous are great. Are those things you have done or want to do? Just curious.

great idea to incorporate the book page. Thanks for an awesome challenge this month!

I really like the idea of using a kids book page. I think I might have the same trouble as you in making the page look like “me”. I think I’d like to try scanning an old book page like that, and printing it on in black and white on a transparency (maybe that could fit more with my style). But I think you made it work with the feathers. And is that washi tape? I like how you added that.

Love your prompt Sabine! I like the way you used primary colors, it really brings home the ‘dream’ or wish part of your pages.
