This month was filled with life. We went on a vacation in the Netherlands, I met a lot of friends, the weeks were filled with dates with friends and colleagues and work was full of meetings and tasks. Therefore there weren’t enough hours in the day for anything else, but I’m totally okay with it since time with friends and family is my highest priority. Living my life is important to me. So it’s okay, if I don’t find the time for crafting or blogging. That’s one of the main reasons, why I don’t monetize this blog. Because I like the freedom to blog, when I want and don’t have to meet any deadlines.
A few weeks ago I started a new Pinterest board about art that inspires me and would like to copy as art journal page. At the moment I try to change my style of art journaling and try a lot of new ways to fill a page. So these pages look a lot different than the ones I did until now.
On Sunday my boyfriend and I finally visited the famous East Side Gallery in Berlin. Sursprisingly the weather was beautiful sunny although very cold, the weather report had told it would be gray and rainy. Thankfully it was wrong. Therefore we drove with our bicycles to the beginning of the gallery and walked it down to the red Oberbaumbrücke.
The art on the official side was impressive and beautiful, but everywhere the pictures had been messed up by thousands of signatures and phrases written with permanent marker by visitors. It was very sad to see this important work of art kind of destroyed like this.
On the back of the official gallery graffiti artists had left their mark on the wall. Two artists were painting new pictures when we walked by. It was awe-inspiring to see the paintings evolve from one color to the next. I would have loved to watch them till the end, but it was simply too cold to sit down for one or two hours. But I want to visit the East Side Gallery again in a few days to look at the finished paintings. Graffiti art is one of my favorites, because of its beauty in color and pattern.

When I collected the links for the new sweet serendipity post for tomorrow, I noticed, that I never published these photos of unbelievable sand art. We had the chance to see these sand statues in Warnemünde (near Rostock) on our last vacation. I still can’t believe, how beautiful and delicate the figures are. Simply magical.
